What is Macbeth about?
It is a play by William Shakespeare about a regicide and its aftermath. It is Shakespeare's shortest tragedy and is believed to have been written sometime between 1603 and 1607. The story starts when three witches met Macbeth and Banquo after a battle. They told Macbeth that he would become the king and Banquo that "he would father the line of kings". Ross, a messenger for the king, told Macbeth his newly bestowed title: "Thane Of Cawdor". Macbeth later wrote to his wife, Lady Macbeth, about the witches prophecy. Lady Macbeth hatched out a plan to kill king Duncan and secure the throne. Macbeth was persuaded and killed King Duncan. The next day, when the people knew about the death, his sons fled away while Macbeth killed the guards before they could protest innocence. At that night, he hires men to kill Banquo and his son but his son escaped. At a banquet, Macbeth saw Banquo's ghost and panicked until Lady Macbeth told the guests to leave. Lady Macbeth died of madness days later. Disturbed, Macbeth went to look for the witches. The witches sayed that "none of woman born shall harm Macbeth". A battle started when Macduff confronted Macbeth. In the end Macduff killed Macbeth offstage and fufilled the prophecies. Malcom was then placed on the throne.
My favourite character
My favourite character for Macbeth is Macduff as he is brave enough to confront and kill Macbeth. He was also born via caesarean and was not of woman born.
What can I learn form the story
I learnt that we should not act rashly even if we are greedy(Macbeth) , sad or angry. We should think very carefully before what we do as every action has a consequence.
We should not underestimate different people as they are not always "bad".
(Like how Macduff killed Macbeth even though he is not borned properly)

Lesson: Act 1 Scene 2
This week, I had the lesson on act 1 scene 2 of Macbeth. I think the lesson is not bad, and the original text of the acts are quite interesting. They seem to be the shorter form of English (but not much using now). I've learnt the language of the people of the past and also the way the people treat the king. The story somehow makes me think of Assasins Creed.
I recently had this homework on drawing the comic strip. I'm planning to draw the front part and make it look dramatic :DD

Learning Log 2
The don't know why very long Question: Has there been a time in your life when someone told you that something improbable would happen and it did? Did the fact that the event was "predicted" cause you to behave differently that you to behave differently that you would have otherwise and make it more more likely for the event to occur? Or did the event simply seem to occur without any assistance from you?
I was wondering if this literature lesson is "predicted" because it happened yesterday.
I had badminton tournament yesterday with Monfort so I skipped 4 periods of lesson. There is a form stating which schools would be challenging each other and i found out a pattern from it.
(MSS: Monfort, CHR: Christ Church, EVG: Evergreen, NVSS: North View, SMB: Sembawang)
MSS V CHR
EVG V NVSS
MSS V EVG
CHR V SMB
MSS V NVSS
EVG V SMB
MSS V SMB
CHR V NVSS
CHR V EVG
NVSS V SMB
The schools on the left would win the ones on the right would lose. When I found this out I wasn't surprised as I thought it made sense. Sure enough, Evergreen won North View and lost Monfort. The other victories also went according to the form. My team did badly as they knew the match was "predestined". I feel hopeless as all the hard trainings was wasted to this stupid form.
Hopeless...

CINQUAIN- What i have learnt
A cinquain is a poem with 5 lines.
1st line = A word: Title
2nd line = 2 words: Description
3rd line = 3 words: Verbs
4th line = 1 sentence
5th line = Synonym of title
I am supposed to write my reflections here, so i'll be frank.
I don't quite get the point of learning cinquains (which i think most classmates also think). By the way, the lessons are not bad and is quite interesting. We had group works and the lessons are lively.
Hopefully there can be more lessons like this to keep everyone up from their zombie mode.
